Developmental Coaching is an approach to coaching that focuses on client effectiveness.  The desired outcome from a Developmental Coaching session(s) is that the client increases his/her level of capability to solve problems and to deal with issues.  This leads to increased effectiveness in both his/her professional and personal life.

Developmental Coaching differs from consulting, which tends to create a co-dependent relationship.  The outcome in Developmental Coaching is for the client to develop future ability.
